 長崎に 浦上天主堂 という教会がある。たしか高校生の時に学校の校外学習で行った。その時だったと思うけれど、いわゆるメダリオンというのを買った。楕円の銀色のメダルにマリア様が浮き彫りされているもので、ボールチェーンのネックレスについたものだった。 When I was seventeen, I visited to Uragami Cathedoral in Nagasaki KYUSHU as our high school trip. And I remember I purchased a medarion necklace there. A silver tone medal with Maria relief. I do not have it anymore. I gave it to my friend when I was 19, I thought it would be a kind of lucky charm for the friend. いまはもう持っていない。19の時に友人に譲った。お守りにしてほしいと思った。 I am not a christian. 私はキリスト教徒ではない。 I do not think I am a Buddhist, or a Shito. 仏教徒でも神道でもない。 But as ordinal Japanese, traditionally, I think , like believe, there are multiple gods or goddess around us. 日本人の典型といってよいと思うけれど、つまり多神教的にいろいろな神がそこここに宿ると思っている。信じているというか。 私にとってマリア様像というのはなんというか観音菩薩みたいなものなのかなと最近思うけれど、やはりあの敬虔な美しさというものには魅了される。 I think I like Maria, as she is like to Japanase (or buddhism's) KannonBosatsu Buddha.
